FunSkis was paying for a third-party rental platform that was not bringing in many bookings. Illinois also requires renters born after 1997 to complete boating safety instruction, and the rental business has to offer it, which a generic booking tool does not handle.
At the dock, groups show up together, and getting every rider through the paperwork before they launch is hard to keep track of on paper.
I built a booking app and owner dashboard to replace the old platform. Riders scroll through one document that combines the safety instruction, the rules and the waiver, and each signature is saved with a timestamp and document version.
A QR code at the dock lets staff hand a phone to each rider in a group, a daily email reminds anyone riding soon who has not signed, and the dashboard flags unsigned riders. It also tracks bookings, riders and hours on each jet ski.
