How can I get more bookings for my business?

Short answer: every extra tap between wanting to book and being booked loses people. Make the path short, make it obvious who you're booking with, and put the booking button on every page.

I built a site for a four-artist barber and beauty studio in Rockford, and it's the clearest example I have.

The problem: nobody knew where to book

Sublime Studios is four artists under one roof: fades, freestyle designs, vivid color and facials. Each artist books through their own booking page, so there was no single place that showed the whole studio and sent people to the right chair.

The Google listing also still carried the studio's old name, with no website and no hours.

The fix: two taps

Two taps to book at Sublime Studios: open the artist's page, then book with that artist

I built a page for each artist showing their work, prices, hours and reviews, with a book button that goes straight to that artist's booking page. One artist books by text, so his button opens a text with the message already written.

Each service has its own page saying who does it and what it costs. Every page has a full Spanish version, because a lot of the clients are more comfortable in Spanish.

What I'd do for any business that takes bookings

  • Put a book button at the top of every page, not just a contact page
  • If different people take different bookings, send people to the right person, not a generic form
  • Say who does what and what it costs before the click, so the click means yes
  • Keep the booking tool you already use if your clients like it, and link to it
  • Offer the language your clients actually speak
  • Fix your Google listing so the name, hours and website match your booking page

What about a custom booking system?

Sometimes the off-the-shelf tool doesn't fit. Happy Tails Pet Care needed one place for booking requests, customer notes and photos, so I built her a booking form and dashboard. FunSkis needed signed waivers and safety instruction before riders hit the water, so that got built into the booking flow. Those are scoped and quoted case by case. See AI tool development.

Where to start

Count the taps from your home page to a booked appointment. If it's more than three, shorten it. Then read how to get more calls for what happens before someone reaches the booking button. If you want to see yours, ask for a demo.
