Facebook and Instagram ads for Rockford service businesses
Meta ads can put your phone number in front of homeowners in Rockford the same week. They can also burn $500 on people two states away. I set them up so the money stays inside the towns you actually drive to.
What I set up and run
You keep the ad account and you pay Meta directly for the ad spend. I handle the rest:
- A campaign built around one offer and your real service area
- Ad images and short videos made for your trade, with fresh versions as old ones wear out
- A lead form that asks the questions you need to decide if the job is worth driving to
- Lead alerts sent to your phone as they come in
- Pixel and conversion tracking installed correctly, so the numbers mean something
- A weekly check on what is working, with the losers shut off
Keeping the ads inside your service area
Most local ad accounts leak. Meta has a setting called Location Expansion that is switched on by default, and it quietly shows your ad to people outside the area you picked. For a plumber in Rockford, that means leads from towns you will never serve.
I turn it off, set a hard radius around the towns you cover, and add a town or zip question to the lead form so out-of-area leads filter themselves out.
Ads work better with a site that closes
An ad only gets the click. What happens next decides whether you get the call. If the page behind it loads slowly, hides the phone number or looks like every other contractor, the money is wasted.
That is why I like running ads for clients whose site I built, or fixed. The ad, the page and the lead alert all line up. If your site needs work first, I will tell you before you spend a dollar on ads.
Ads or Google Maps first?
For most home-service businesses I would fix the Google Business Profile and get reviews coming in before paying for ads. That traffic is free and it keeps coming. Ads are the right call when you want jobs this month, when you are new and have no reviews yet, or when you are in a slow season and the phone has gone quiet.
Plenty of businesses do both. Maps for the steady calls, ads to fill the gaps.
What this doesn't promise
I can't promise a cost per lead before I have seen your trade, your area and your offer. Anyone who quotes you one up front is guessing. What I can promise is clean tracking, a tight service area, and a clear read each week on what the money is doing, so you can keep going or stop.

Questions
It depends on your monthly ad spend and how many channels you want, so I quote it after a quick look at your business. Your ad spend goes straight to Meta from your own card. It is never marked up.
Enough to get a real read in a few weeks. For most local trades that is a modest daily budget, not thousands. I will tell you a number once I know your trade and how far you drive.
Yes. The account, the page and the pixel are in your name. If you stop working with me you keep everything.
Not if it is set up right. I turn off Location Expansion, set a hard radius around your service towns, and add a town question to the lead form.
Ads can start delivering within days of launch, but the first couple of weeks are for testing. I will not call it a win or a loss until there is enough data to know.
No long contract. If the ads are not paying for themselves, you can stop.
Usually the profile first, since that traffic is free and keeps coming. See Google Business Profile setup. Ads are for jobs this month, a new business, or a slow season.
